I can never figure out the shape of Hot Dog Water’s legs. Sometimes they’re leg-shaped, sometimes they’re cartoon sticks with big knobby knees and wide ankles. Here she seems to have one of both! Makes drawing her sometimes awkward, because I want to draw *her* legs, not Standard Arted Female Legs.

Not likely. Nothing in new Scooby Doo incarnations seems to stick, other than the odd easter egg. They always seem to reset back to the first six or so original “Scooby Doo Where Are You?” episodes as backstory and start over. Those first handful of episodes are Scooby Doo Immutable Canon. Everything else is Superman 3 and 4, waiting to be overwritten by the next Superman Returns.
Which is saddening, but I’m more of a realist than an optimist, especially when it comes to franchises.
And it also probably means that SDMI is going to be it for me, Scooby Doo-wise. I like this particular creative direction, not so much the icons themselves. The SDMI versions of the characters ARE those characters to me, and whoever does the next Scooby Doo cartoon is likely gonna have their own take.
