I dislike that song.  It seems to use the “everyone’s racist” epiphany as license to go about as usual, guilt-free, rather than as a catalyst for personal change.  ”Everyone’s a little bit racist, so just relax” always gets quoted by dudes in message boards as a way to tease folks who are legitimately upset with how they’re treated.  Plus the song tries to make it seem like anybody’s racism is equal, while totally ignoring that there are forces in place that makes some folks’ racism way more potent than other folks’ racism – which is the point of racism.  

So, no, I don’t think it “applies.”  At best, maybe Walky likes it while Sal doesn’t, and that’s the problem.
