Seriously, that Archie, ARCHIE, would be blowing the big companies away with a progressive message the way they have been is nothing less than miraculous. I love them for it.
When the people running Archie were asked if they were worried about controversy (regarding having a gay male lead character in their family-friendly books), they responded in the best possible way. “We don’t care if bigots don’t like our comics.”
Sixty years later there was a gay wedding and nobody cast aspersions.
Surprisingly, it did not involve Jughead.
Honestly, I was expecting you to bring up that Jughead ravenously impregnated Midge in one of the timelines that Archie died taking a bullet for Kevin.BUT HE DIDN’T LOOK LIKE THAT PROMO IMAGE WHILE HE WAS DOING IT, probably
Archie is, to my great shame (nah not really), not something I feel completionist about, so I really only know about Archie getting shot from other folks talking about it.
I am…morbidly curious as to what “ravenously impregnated” means in this context.
Jughead’s all “Grrrrr girls stupid!” and Midge walks into his place of work and is all “boo moose and i are through” and then Jughead’s all “actually you’re pretty nice, I LIKE GIRL NOW, let’s consummate immediately” and then like the very next day she was pregnant.
and then there was some sort of triple-simultaneous-wedding that included them and whetherbee/grundy but maybe that was the other timeline
I’ve been reading Life With Archie very faithfully over the past year and a half, and my favorite part is always Ridiculously Evil Mr. Lodge.
