Because the new Axe Cop cartoon — based on the comic co-created by Ethan Nicolle and his then five-year-old brother Malachai and starring the voice of Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman as Axe Cop — seems destined to be amazing, excitement about the show has only grown since it was announced last week that it will debut on July 27th. Recognizing that making fans wait that much longer would be manifestly cruel, the folks at ADHD, who are producing the show,have released a new clip Axe Cop clip, the first since the Halloween inspired one from last October.

If we reach $20k, when do the Saturday comics start?

From the Dumbing of Age Book 2 Kickstarter FAQ:

I’ve decided that Saturday comics will start on the first Saturday after $20k is reached.  Meaning if this thing hits $20k by the end of this Friday, I’ll flush out the entire buffer and renumber and reupload and re-everything for this Saturday.  It is an amazing amount of work, but I want to reward you all!  (also i have a huge buffer and i want to share it with you more quickly because cool-ass shit happens in it)

It might mess with some intended weekend cliffhangers, I admit, but that is up to you, now.  Maybe a feature, even!  WHAT HAPPENS NEXT might be found out in 24 hours instead of 72!

Unless somehow this milestone happens while I’m at Phoenix Comicon at the end of May.  If that’s the case, it’d have to wait until the following Saturday.  But at the current rate of pledges, I doubt it’ll come to that.

I could shell out a few hundred dollars of my own cash, but not much more than that comfortably.  I’d really rather it hit $20k!

The Problem With The Big Bang Theory…

I’ve been meaning to post something about The Big Bang Theory for a while now but it’s taken me ‘till now to really understand what it is about the show that makes me uncomfortable. I’m not exactly a believer in the whole “only write about the things you like, don’t trash the things you don’t” trend which seems to be plaguing comments sections in negative articles lately, but I wanted to be able to really examine why I don’t like TBBT rather than just slagging it off. My main questions being - Why don’t I like this anymore? Why do I feel uncomfortable watching it? And why do I get so annoyed when I see people sing its praises online? The thing which really sparked this post was seeing a raft of comments on Facebook, below the last round of voting in Television Without Pity’s Tubey Awards, claiming The Big Bang Theory to be “the best comedy on TV”. This made me angry so instead of posting an impulsive comment calling out their bad taste which I’d probably regret later, I decided to really analyse why seeing comments like that made me so mad when previously, although I didn’t really love the show, I’d never considered myself as disliking The Big Bang Theory.

Hell, I even have season one on dvd, it’s sitting right between Battlestar Galactica and Bored To Death in my alphabetised collection.

And here, I think, is where my problem with The Big Bang Theory lies…
