These days, James Franco is a star, and a celebrated Hollywood actor. But you could certainly argue he wasn’t a big name until he was cast to play Harry Osborn in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. Those films were a huge success, but that story is done, and 2012 saw the start of a new Spider-Man film franchise, from director Marc Webb. Recently, Franco was asked what he thought of last year’s The Amazing Spider-Man and, well… he was not impressed.

it’s 2007.  everyone is complaining that spider-man 3 has too many characters and too many villains, that it’s too crowded a film 


it’s 2020.  everyone is excited that spider-man 3 is going to have multiple spider-men, every mary jane, every previous villain

Spider-Man 3′s problem was never too many villains. It was that they rushed straight from the black suit to Venom. They needed to have buildup.

Well that and the dance scene.

Counterpoint: Venom got as much screentime as Venom deserves.  

And frankly I could have enjoyed more dancing.
