This is the reference material that Ultra Car’s current design is based upon. I just did a Google Images search for “hybrid hatchback” and picked one that I liked. Of course, Ultra Car doesn’t look exactly like this, but I needed a starting point. So in case you ever wonder what kind of car Ultra Car is anyway, here ye be.
Ultra Car is 32 years old today.

The Saga Of Human Ultra Car, ca. 1995.
This was a weird find. These strips are dated 1997 and sure look it, which means I drew them at the same time as the first semester of Roomies! strips.
They appear to be set in the future of Roomies!, with Danny, Joe, and “Mike” (later renamed Howard) as adults living in a house together, and the strips build up to the creation of Ultra Car. I stopped drawing them before that event occurred, obviously.
You can add this to the obscenely huge pile of aborted projects from my teenaged and college years. Roomies! was the first thing I ever started that I finished.
It’s Ultra Car’s birthday today, so have a bunch of art of her THROUGH THE AGES
