on the one hand this is a joke post because lol i have never made a good post in my life, but also, if i hadn’t made the connection between this update and my sudden nosedive in activity, i would have been really fucking discouraged about all the shit i’ve been working on lately. i guarantee there are people on tumblr right now who haven’t made that connection, and who are trying to figure out why suddenly no one likes anything they’ve made. and that fucking sucks.

Yeah, Rodimus is an actual character. I’m not super big into Rodimus, but I admit he’s more of a real guy than Optimus Prime, the infallible father figure. And, yeah, Optimus Prime’s sudden return due to thousands of traumatized children kind of ruined Hot Rod’s story. He’s the Chosen One!…until Optimus Prime comes back a few months later. All of that self-doubting and angst was apparently a self-fulfilling prophesy.

The Calvin and Hobbes exhibit at OSU opened up tonight and Maggie and I went to visit. There was also a Cul de Sac exhibit next door. So much original art. Also, Ben Carter of Woody After Hours found me.

The first photo is of the original art of the first C&H strip. They also had the last. Super crowded, like shoulder to shoulder, so I might try to come back another day.
