What a character would or would not do is, like, always my #1 concern!  “Concerning myself with that” is Why I Like Drawing Comics.  If they start acting out-of-character, then it kind of stops being them, and starts being a cardboard standee of them, the crotch of which I am banging into the crotch of somebody else or possibly another cardboard standee.  

Maybe as a very infrequent one-off exercise, but ongoing?  Nah, I’d have taken a scissors to the strings that connect my characters’ likenesses to everything else that interests me about them, and I will be mostly indifferent.
