Characters whose faith gets challenged and disproven in stories very often aren't given the chance to be anything but bigoted assholes because all we expect from them is illogical brainwash. It's easier to be hard on them! I really love that you're showing Joyce's faith as something she has actually put a lot of thought into, that is important to her, even if all of it is based on complete falsehoods.

Five years ago, I decided to draw a comic centered around a character who believed many detestable things, yet needed to be likable because they were the main protagonist!
