I don’t think I try to strike a balance between *every* character.  Some folks are definitely background folks who are there to talk to the Main Folks.  And the Main Folks achieve that status mostly through me having the most to say through them.  So, really, the process of balancing which characters to write about is somewhat automatic.  

The characters hardest to write about are the ones that showed up late to the meeting where I handed out all of my neuroses.
