BotCon v ECCC: Dawn of Justice

So BotCon is the same weekend as Emerald City next year.  HOORAY??????  I need to tally the pros and cons of each.

Pro-BotCon

* It’s in Louisville, a three-hour drive away.  My wife will be at home by herself with three-month-old twins.  I could drive down for a day and not be gone for an entire week.  (bolded because this might be most important)

* I have a Transformers sickness and I don’t want to make the Transformers sickness mad.

Pro-ECCC

* My best convention of the year.  

* I see many of my favorite peeps, like my convention wife Joel and the Explosm guys and basically EVERYBODY IN WEBCOMICS.  Unlike SDCC, I actually have time to hang out with them and unwind.  

* Me being at ECCC means I don’t leave all the people I share table space and hotel space with every year out in the cold, finance-wise.  

* ECCC is not run by Donald Trump enthusiasts.

* An ever-dwindling number of my Transformers fandom pals even go to BotCon anymore (see previous), so I could end up going to BotCon alone anyway.  For that reason I even thought to myself last year that it might be my final BotCon.

* I could just buy all the stuff I want from BotCon off eBay, and see the news from it online.
