TransMissions Podcast is pleased to announce that with IDW Publishing’s TRANSFORMERS TILL ALL ARE ONE’s issue 1 release on June 22nd, 2016 there will be a TransMissions Podcast Exclusive Cover, the first time a cover has been commissioned by a Transformers podcast.

TRANSFORMERS TILL ALL ARE ONE is the newest ongoing Transformers series from IDW Publishing. It features the ongoing struggles of WINDBLADE and STARSCREAM as they vie for political control of the fragile peace between the Autobots, Decepticons, and neutral Transformers on Cybertron. The superstar creative team features MAIRGHREAD SCOTT (Transformers Windblade) on writing, SARA PITRE-DUROCHER (Transformers Combiner Hunters) on art, and PRISCILLA TRAMONTANO (Transformers Robots in Disguise Animated) on colors.

The TransMissions Podcast cover was drawn and colored by the very talented team of ALEX MILNE and JOSH PEREZ. For those that know their Transformers comic history, they will recognize the image as an homage to issue 18 of the original Marvel Transformers comic by the famous Herb Trimpe.

This exclusive cover will be available online when TRANSFORMERS TILL ALL ARE ONE #1 is released in June, and TransMissions will have a booth at TFcon Canada July 15th-17th, 2016. There you can purchase your copy of TRANSFORMERS TILL ALL ARE ONE #1 and have it signed by the comic’s main artist Sara Pitre-Durocher as well as our cover artists Alex Milne and Josh Perez.

TransMissions Podcast will be selling this exclusive cover at TFCon Canada, TFCon USA, and online through their sponsor’s website PrimeToys.net. There you can pre-order the cover and have it shipped to you once it’s released.

On November 9th, we wish a Happy Birthday to Bill Mantlo, the stalwart Marvel writer who plotted the first two issues of the original Transformers comic! Bill is also well known for creating Rocket Raccoon, and for his work on other 1980s toy properties Rom and Micronauts, both returning to comics through IDW Publishing in the near future! 

In 1992, Mantlo was the victim of a hit-and-run accident and sustained injuries that placed him in institutional care, in which he still lives today. On his birthday, please consider showing your thanks for his contribution to our favourite franchise by donating to the Bill Mantlo Support Fund.

My niece will play with my Transformers when my nephew does, but she has never shown a real interest in my Transformers comics before. Until I showed her Windblade #1 and told her it was about girl Transformers and she pounced on it like a parched man on a desert oasis. I didn’t realise she wanted female Transformers that much. (She wants a Chromia toy now.) My dream of sharing my hobby with her has come a little closer.

Last week I said I’d read the IDW Transformers comics if they ever came up in a Humble Bundle or something because I knew they had already been in a Humble Bundle and didn’t think they’d do another one anytime soon, and today they did one and now I have to read these 75 issues of Transformers comics that I just paid twelve bucks for and let me tell you I am just FURIOUS about this.

I love Transformers very, very much, but if you didn’t grow up with it, it can be a daunting series to get into. There are dozens of cartoons, hundreds of issues of comics, and a bunch of distinct universes to worry about. To an outsider, how do you even start?

That’s why I threw this together! This is a compilation of most of the best, most noteworthy, and easiest to get into Transformers series. I neglected to mention plot details and stuff to keep the word count from getting higher, and instead tried to focus on the style of each series to help you figure out which you might want to look into if you’re interested

I also put together a reading order for More Than Meets the Eye, because it’s my favorite and I really, really want more people to read it. It builds off of several years of comics that preceded it, but it was design to be the perfect jumping on point for new readers, so you don’t have to read much outside of the main series! The only big exception is the Dark Cybertron crossover event between “seasons,” which is important for IDW’s Transformers continuity as a whole but, honestly, isn’t all that mandatory for MTMTE readers
