It’s BotCon this weekend, folks, and Walky and Monzo are on the scene, so look for more news about new stuff in the near future! Seems like a Giant Woman wasn’t enough hugeness for today - “TITAN WARS” looks to be offering a new Fortress Maximus, a Blaster who turns into a boombox and a DJ booth, and… some kinda Optimus spaceship? And they’re all Headmasters!
I am looking forward to the comics story where IDW Spike becomes the head for IDW Fortress Maximus.
Anyway, more notes:
Fort Max is a heavy retool of Metroplex. Note the same forearms and thighs. Transforms into a base differently, though. His head is Cerebros (with a more Sunbowy head) and Cerebro’s head is Spike. Or at least it’s Spike’s exosuit. Maybe it’s Galen!
Spaceship triplechanger-something-with-treads Optimus Prime looks for all the world like an Astrotrain pretool. He’s a headmaster too.
Blaster is a Headmaster, also he becomes a boombox and what looks like a stage. A rock band stage, with amps and speakers.
In between the letters of the Combiner Wars logo, you can see lineart of Nebulos.
So people in the Transformers fandom are occasionally all “hey why don’t they re-release that BotCon exclusive figure I like but can’t get at mass retail, they sold BotCon 2005 Fallback as Target Crosshairs I mean”.
So I took a picture of Fallback next to Crosshairs.

It's BotCon time again next weekend! As usual, I’ll have a table in Artists Alley and also as usual, I’ve written up a schedule of when I should be at my table since unlike other conventions, I’m at BotCon to go see stuff as well:
Friday
3 to 5pm (entire dealer room open time)
Saturday
9 to 10am
Noon to 1pm
2 to 5pm
Sunday
11am to 3:30pm
That’s my tentative schedule, which will also be posted at my table. I say “tentative” since there’s probably some bits here and there I’ll be leaving to go see stuff that I can’t plan ahead for. I know at least one of those at-table times will involve me leaving so I can go get in line for Jason Jansen’s autograph, because holy hell Jason Jansen. Also, y'know, the Hasbro booth and its new goodies on display will often call to me. You know how it is. Thanks for you understanding!
I’ll have all four Shortpacked! books, Dumbing of Age book 1, all four of the “Obama”-style Beast Wars posters, and some other goodies. Also, I’ll have blank paper for sketches, provided tips are put in my jar!
Makes me happy no so many levels. A reference to a character form an obscure set, deco’d like a “lost” character from Armada, using a damn solid mold.
I’ll have these four posters available at my table at BotCon!
