The correct answer is: a seriously outdated form of payment.
Also, seeing that conservatives anti-tax meme only ever really extends to corporate and property tax, leaving the burden of taxation even more on the middle and working class… Chuck Asay is a fucking hack.

Oh, this was an anti-tax meme thing?  I thought the student was just recognizing that the checkbook was made out of paper, and was thus a natural resource.  Huh.  But I guess the anti-tax thing makes more sense as an anti-liberal slam?  Because “paper is a natural resource” is kind of amazingly inoffensive?   Even though that involves not making a huge-ass logical stretch.

Yeah, well, I’ll admit it’s easy to see the bias. After all, the Academia are interested in the truth, pragmatic solutions and greater understanding of humanity as a whole, and the media sides with truth.
And oh “gays”? Not even “gay rights”. Man, you’re on fire tonight Chuck.

(The media doesn’t really side with truth.)
(They side with ratings.)
(But OH MY GOD, cartoon.)

Personally, I’m amused by the accidental portrayal of the side of “Traditional Family Values” as clueless morons, seemingly oblivious to the rest of the world moving forward without them.

Hey, replace “GAYS” with “BLACKS” and you’ve got a cartoon from the Fifties!

BILL DAY’S CREATIVE RANGE PART 12

Bill Day likes to focus on Bush’s deficits and is optimistic that Obama will help clean up the red ink.  Unfortunately Obama seems to be a terrible janitor.  Even after years, it looks like he barely cleaned any of it up at all!

That Xerox machine should get a Pulitzer.

BILL DAY’S CREATIVE RANGE PART 1

One of my favorite cartoonists is the consistently liberal Bill Day.  His artistic ability and originality is unsurpassed by few cartoonists working today…like that mean ole Michael Ramirez…herp de derp.  Check out Bill Day’s artistic and creative range!  He can cover topics as varied as the GOP, the Tea Party, racism, planned parenthood, public broadcasting and Christine O’Donnell with ease.

I’d say this metaphor’s getting… strained.

Bob Gorrell uses this news desk set up several times- making minor changes to the anchorman and changing the News channel text.

so….much…wasted… space….
I think that’s the bigger crime, versus the copy-pasting.  I mean, he’s got a whole yard of cartoon space, and he uses one sliver in the middle, shoves the monitors out as far as he can, and then runs the only actual content, the text, along the bottom.
The newsdude should be scooted over to the left or the right, and he should have a dialog bubble next to him to fill the other side.

Asay won’t let go of the birth control issue… which the conservatives brought up.

What amuses me is that the “fairness” on Obama’s door is supposed to be a slam, I guess?  Boo, fairness!  Fine, sure, if fairness is dumb, then let’s ditch the damn Bill of Rights, get rid of the police, and then let everyone do whatever they want!  Yay, freedom!
Sometimes I forget that “fairness” means “other people getting as much freedom as I do,” and that’s apparently really offensive to some people.

Political Cartoon By Alex HoffmanWhen Falls The Coliseum - 2/17/12

Except you know, the mandate doesn’t say anyone HAS to get birth control, it’s just that health insurances have to cover it. So it’s “everyone who wants a puppy should be able to get one”.

At least it’s accurate in that both decisions are being made by dudes!
