Another B:TDK question
So, like, that first issue cliffhanger, where Two-Face shows up and says “GRRARGH NOW MY NAME IS ONE-FACE!!!!1”…
Did that, like, mean anything? I mean, it was never mentioned again. They just go back to calling him Two-Face after that, and the whole one-page-cliffhanger “GRARGH I AM ONE-FACE NOT SURE WHY THOUGH” deal was dropped entirely.
It just seemed so...
ta1987 asked: If you could guarantee that no SOPA or PIPA bills, or anything similar would ever be passed, but there would never be any more batman comics, tv shows or movies, would you make the trade? would you give up batman for a free internet?

Now that's what I call follow-through.
Batman: Dark Knight #6 huge cliffhanger:
Bane: MY NEW VENOM NOT ONLY MAKES ME SUPER STRONG BUT ALSO MAKES ME EVEN MORE INCREDIBLY INTELLIGENT
Batman: DUN DUN DUNNNNN
Batman: Dark Knight #7 first two pages:
Bane throws a big rock at Batman. Misses.

Some dumb jerk drew a dumb cartoon.
He said about it:
I can always tell when my critics have no substantive argument to make in their defense, for that’s when the shallow charges of “horrible cartoonist” and “racist” start to fly. The latter of which is a hilarious label on a guy who married outside his race and has a bi-racial child. But I guess when you’re tutoring a kindergarten class,...

montypla asked: Bit of a random question, but you're a Batman expert, so maybe you can help me figure something out. I've been reading JLI and some old Batman issues, and I'm wondering, When Batman's cowl, cape, etc. are blue, is the front of the cowl actually black, or is it just some weird, constant shadow? It's also shown up on the Adam West costume, the Super Friends cartoon, and...

humanspider asked: I actually find the whole banner ad war funny and amusing. I was just wondering if it was fake or now. Have there been any banner ads poking fun at Shortpacked or DoA?
letao asked: Well, I mean in that it seems a lot of the people sending you asks think everyone's being malicious, instead of funny.
letao asked: It's funny how people think the cartoonists doing this to each other aren't friends, and that you're all being dicks to each other.
humanspider asked: How many of those ads poking fun at other webcomics and authors are real and how many are photoshopped?
croisvoix asked: How long before the other webcartoonists try to kill you for your ad-mockery?

punkrockcomicart asked: I wish to engage you in a bout of Draw Something, but it says you have too many games going. I shall wait, but I shall not be denied.
emeraldbeacon asked: As convention season quickly approaches, what offerings, physical and otherwise, representative of our adoration and praise, are most desired by your eminence, so that we may garner the favor of the webcomic god you so clearly are? (Or in other words, if we want say thank you for making awesome art for us, what can we get you?)
soultired asked: You should write the anti-gay group a thank you letter for supporting a site that is so antithetical to their politics. It's really quite forward of them to support free speech in that way. And then tell them that their money will be put towards more gay stories, just for them!
avenjar asked: Not sure if you can control what the ads on your website are, but there's one for the Maryland Marriage Allegiance,an anti-gay marriage group, on the Dumbing of Age site. I'm not sure if you could, or would, take it down, but it seems like something counteractive to some of the themes of the comic, and I hate seeing them get money. If this isn't the right place to ask about this,...
yotomoe asked: o3o do any of your characters have the ability to play instruments? Since I'm in band I always like to write at least one character that can play something.
wackd asked: Funny thing about that. The cast page calls Lil' Warner a girl but I can't find where that was confirmed in the comic proper.
wackd asked: Perhaps you could do a blog post and designate it's comment section for the baby pool? Or...I dunno, is their a forum? Because that actually sounds like a really neat idea.
wackd asked: It's the pool the baby swims in. Duh.
pelicanjones asked: Sorry to double ask. There were comments on Lil Warner's cast page guessing when she'd be born, her birthdate and all that jazz. But they're not there anymore. I didn't know if you had access to old comments or not.
pelicanjones asked: Is there any chance that you have the baby pool for the little Warner saved?
kaptainkappy asked: Something that I noticed when I was looking back through some old Shortpacked! strips... Did Nate's IRC name (FirstNate) have something to do with how you and your wife did the pirate thing over IRC chat?
hockeypock asked: This morning when I heard an advertisment for Taco Bell on the radio my mind immediately and inexplicably jumped to thoughts of Batman. About an hour later, after much confusion and pondering (mostly about Batman eating Doritos-encased tacos), I realized it was all your fault. You and your comics have altered the filing system of my brain. So all I can say now is "Damn you Willis."
